Adapted from the world-renowned ballet classic "The Nutcracker," the Chinese New Year ballet "Celebrating the New Year" is one of the National Ballet of China's representative works that integrate Chinese cultural elements into Western classical ballet. For over a decade since its premiere, it has not only brought festive blessings to audiences across China at the end of each year and the beginning of the next, but has also gone abroad to become a window for the world to understand the charm of Chinese culture, receiving widespread acclaim and popularity. The ballet "Celebrating the New Year" creatively imbues the well-known "Nutcracker" with a romantic and beautiful Chinese charm. Set against the backdrop of Tchaikovsky's music, it tells a heartwarming story of a Chinese family celebrating the Spring Festival. On the ballet stage, it vividly presents a rich and colorful panorama of Chinese folk customs, while also expressing the Chinese ballet artists' reflections and explorations on the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
